Rumor Says Apple’s 10.5-inch iPad Pro Will Debut at WWDC

We’ve been hearing about Apple working on a new addition to the iPad Pro lineup — one with a 10.5-inch display, to be specific — for some time now, and June’s Worldwide Developers Conference is expected to be when it will finally be unveiled. This comes from the latest report by Ming-Chi Kuo, the well-regarded KGI Securities analyst with a solid track record when it comes to Apple.

Since last year Kuo has been predicting the announcement of a 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2 as well as an all new 10.5-inch iPad Pro model. The latter is expected to be almost the same form-factor as the current 9.7-inch iPad, but feature a larger screen paired with much narrower bezels — similar to what we might see on this fall’s new iPhone.

The analyst believes the WWDC event on June 5th will see the announcement of the new iPad design due its production being scheduled to begin later that month.

Lastly Kuo notes that there is a strong chance Apple will use WWDC to reveal the much-rumored new Siri speaker device. Expected to challenge Amazon’s Echo and the Google Home connected speakers, the new Siri product is said to have been in testing for several months now, and according to recent hints from Apple’s Phil Schiller, seems likely to feature a touchscreen display.
