Budget Android phones are the ideal option for college students — you get to own a smartphone without having to either shell out a huge sum of money for an unlocked device or having to sign up for a carrier plan. You might not need to make big sacrifices in terms of usability — most budget smartphones come with a number of the features of high-end devices.

If you are looking for a budget smartphone, there are a number of choices available in the market. You can even tailor your preferences to find out which one you like apart from the usual aspects such as cameras and display.
Here’s our pick of four budget smartphones you should consider:
Nokia 6:  The first Nokia phone to reach American shores after a gap of two years, the Nokia 6 has a lot going for it. The $229.99 device is available as a Prime Exclusive at $179.99 if you are an Amazon Prime member. But if you don’t prefer a phone loaded with Amazon’s aware, you might have to shell out the $50 difference.

The Nokia 6 has a lot going for it, besides the Nokia branding. It comes with a 5.2-inch full HD display, a Snapdragon 430 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage, a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. The device has gathered rave reviews wherever it has been launched. And for its price, it is definitely worth considering.
Moto E4: The Moto E4 cannot stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Nokia 6 and there is a reason for that — it comes with a  much cheaper price tag. It comes with an MSRP of $129.99. However, it is even available at $70 at Verizon if you can tie yourself with its $40 carrier plan. You can also buy it for $99.99 as a Prime Exclusive. The device comes with a 5-inch 720p display, Snapdragon 425 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.
With this phone, you tend to sacrifice a bit in terms of the display and the processor, but the phone is certainly offering much for its price.
Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime:  The Samsung Galaxy J3 comes with a 5-inch 720p display, an Exynos 7570 processor, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage capacity, a 2-megapixel front camera and a 5-megaoixel rear camera. It is available for $179.99.
The specifications of this phone sound just about okay, however, this mid-range phone comes with Samsung Live support. AT&T is also offering a Samsung gear S2 smartwatch for free on the purchase of this device if you are willing to sign up for a two-year contract.
Lenovo Phab 2: The Phab 2 is another device that you can consider if you prefer the one with a large screen.  The device comes for $199.99 and has a 6.4-inch 720p display, 32GB expandable memory, 3GB RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The device also offers Dolby Atmos Capture 5.1 for voice recording.
