You Can Now Buy ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom in The US

ASUS definitely took its sweet time. Not that it seemed to be in any rush to bring its ZenFone 3 Zoom to the market. After all, it isn’t exactly competing in the same space as, say, the Samsung Galaxy S8. Nonetheless, 5 months is a pretty long time to wait between announcement and launch. Fortunately for the ZenFone 3 Zoom, it might still have a few things going for it.

There is little doubt that the ZenFone 3 Zoom is a mid-range smartphone.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, 3 GB of RAM, and 5.5-inch Full HD screen pretty much make sure of that. But what it lacks in raw power, it tries to make up for in extra features.

As its name suggests, this smartphone’s claim to fame is in the camera. Or cameras, rather. It has a dual camera system, both 12 megapixels, offering 2.3x optical zoom. One of the cameras also does wide-angle shots. But despite that name, it doesn’t boast of an extra high optical zoom number.

The ZenFone 3 Zoom does have one other super power: its battery. ASUS managed to cram a rather large 5,000 mAh battery in that size. The smartphone is advertised to last 40 days on standby, even while on a 4G network. Definitely not your standard fare in a smartphone. That said, that time is reduced to hours when on continuous usage.

Announced back at CES last January, the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom is finally making its way to the US. Priced at $329, the photography-centric smartphone can be purchased unlock from Amazon, Best Buy, B&H Photo, Fry’s, and Newegg, among other authorized retailers.
