iPhone 8 Wants To Completely Remove The Iconic Touch ID

In its 10-year cycle, the tech giant Apple will be preparing state-of-the-art iPhone news. Much has been written about what will be released, always without any certainty or confirmation.

The latest information is that the iPhone 8 may not bring Touch ID on its screen and not even on the back.

iPhone 8 Wants To Completely Remove The Iconic Touch ID

The new information now comes from a proven source. KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo has released an assessment on future iPhones. The tech giant Apple is expected to present the normal evolution of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, as well as a new iPhone 8.

The absence of Touch ID on the new iPhone 8
The new iPhone 8 is expected to feature a 5.8-inch OLED screen with one of the largest screen-to-body ratios on the market. The biggest problem in this model will be, according to Ming-Chi Kuo, the absence of Touch ID. This removal will be related to problems in putting OLED on this technology, something that still nobody has been able to do with satisfactory results.

Guaranteed is the presence of a virtual home button, soaked in the screen. The frame will be minimal and only at the top will be a zone where the camera and the audio zone will be placed.

To compensate for the absence of the Touch ID, while maintaining the security that the iPhone has, Ming-Chi Kuo has advanced that Apple will introduce a front camera that will have 3D support and thus it will be able to do facial recognition reliably. This camera will also bring news for the photograph made by this camera.

The remaining two devices will be upgrades to current models, with some minor changes. The first will be on the screen, which will have an even smaller frame, following the line of the future iPhone 8.

Also in these models the Home button will be virtual and will be on the equipment screen, not having Touch ID as well. In the case of these devices, it is expected to be transferred to the rear panel, in the image of what the competition has already done.

Is this rumor true?
Despite the credibility that Ming-Chi Kuo has, from information provided in previous years, the tech giant Apple community is receiving this information with skepticism. First of all, it does not seem logical that the tech giant Apple will abandon a technology that has proven and trusted in its payment system, among others.

On the other hand, no information has yet been found in the iOS 11 code that supports the removal of the Touch ID or its transformation into a secure facial recognition system. There is still the reluctance to accept that the tech giant Apple will switch its LCD screens to OLED, with the inherent problems that are known.

Of course, only in September of this year will know if there are even 3 new iPhones and what changes and developments will bring. Until then many other rumors will arise.
